is building a new $500,000 club area at Sun Devil Stadium that will be available for the upcoming football season.MidFirst Bank?
will have the naming rights for the club area, which ASU is creating by converting some existing suites at the Tempe stadium.The climate-controlled section features 150 seats. They sell for $2,750 per season or $2,500 each year if a buyer commits to a three-year agreement.
Oklahoma City-based MidFirst inked an 11-year sponsorship and marketing deal with ASU Athletics earlier this year.
The MidFirst Stadium Club is separate from the existing Hobbs Family Stadium Club at the south end of Sun Devil Stadium.
ASU athletics director Steve Patterson said the MidFirst area aims to offer ?first-class surroundings? for ASU football fans.
MidFirst club members get a complimentary buffet, beer, wine and non-alcoholic beverages with the club ticket package.
MidFirst Bank?s Arizona market president Jeff Lowe said the naming rights is part of the bank?s partnership with ASU sports and that it will offer top-quality amenities to fans.
ASU is coming off a disappointing 6-7 record last season and a mediocre performance overall under Dennis Erickson.
Erickson was fired last season with Todd Graham taking over in Tempe.
Graham has promised improvements and regularly getting into the Rose Bowl hunt. He?s also been reaching out to alumni, chambers of commerce and other groups to boost ASU?s fan base.
In the long-term, ASU president Michael Crow wants to modernize Sun Devil Stadium with a major overhaul That could include a shade canopy. Paying for that endeavor will be the biggest challenge to those renovations.
College sports programs have been in an arms race to offer new and modern amenities to fans, boosters and recruits. ASU competes with the likes of the University of Oregon?
