Morgridge College of Education is the proud home of DU?s Library and Information Science Program, which is the first program to be accredited by the ALA and is the only program for LIS in the Rocky Mountain region. DU?s LIS Program was recently ranked #33 on the 2013 U.S. News and World Report of Library Information Studies Programs.
Along with specializations in Archives and Special Collections, Digital Librarians, Reference Librarianship in Academic and Public Libraries, School Libraries Concentration, and Special Librarianship, the LIS Program offers one of the most comprehensive Law Librarianship programs in the country and is the only program in the country that offers Early Childhood Librarianship.
Part of what makes DU?s LIS Program so unique is the InContext approach to learning. Students participate in internships and community projects to put their classroom learning InContext with real life.
The LIS Program has numerous alumni who have become Change Agents in the world of Library Information Science such as Camilia A. Alire, current member of the National Council on the Humanities and former president of ALA, and Jennifer Hoffman, recognized for her work with the 2011 Denver Public Library Renovation.
?It is our students and alums who?are?the reputation of our program and that?s why we are so proud today.? ??????
