Sack Lunch program to cover disc golf, course

Disc Golf aficionado and Watrous Park architect Wayne Carlson will host the next Brush Museum Sack Lunch, where he will present topics on the sport of disc golf, the development of Brush's Watrous Park and its future. Brush's new and innovative Watrous Disc Golf course will be highlighted at the next September 7 Museum Sack Lunch at the Brush Area Museum where course architect and museum volunteer Wayne Carlson will update the public on happenings and progress with the course and with the sport in general.?
Carlson, a well-known Brush resident, retired from teaching Social Studies at BMS in 2002 and currently bides his time as a volunteer with the Brush Museum, Morgan County Military Museum and Blue Horizons.
Along with wife Carol, Carlson has played disc golf on 87 various courses in 20 different states after being introduced to the sport by his son Kevin in 2006.
He has relentlessly recruited friends, relatives, neighbors and strangers alike to try their hand at this incredible game and has even worked with local educators in teaching students the art of disc golf in class.? Carlson has also enjoyed teaching classes over the last several years through the Brush Recreation Department and is slated to introduce disc golf to special needs students in Brush schools over the next few months with the Blue Horizons organization.?
During the Friday, September 7 Museum Sack Lunch, Carlson will address questions such as,? ?Why disc golf?' and ?Why? Watrous? Park?'. He will also update folks in? attendance on the progression? of? the development of the course,? on happenings at the? Watrous Park and will consider its future.
The presentation will include photos from the development of Watrous Park and refreshments will be served by Carol.?
The free presentation is slated to begin at? 12 noon on Friday, September 7 at the Brush Area Museum.
